Techniques for Quilting Class
The aim of these classes is to put a few more tools in your toolbox:
- We will be looking at fabrics and use of colour to choose your pallet of fabrics to create the most eye catching quilt.
- Teach you a range of techniques including accurate 4-patch and 9-patch piecing; tricks with foundation paper piecing flying geese and half- & quarter-square triangles; curved piecing and appliqué techniques all by machine.
- Applying the knowledge of the techniques you have learned, you will design your own quilt, focussing on block choice, layout and using colour or shape to tie it all together.
All these techniques are a more modern, more accurate take on what you may have learned at the beginning of your quilting journey. Some are very easy and beautifully accurate, some a very clever and others you may never use again!
I have samples of all these techniques in various quilts which I will show you in each class.
